Turmeric is one of the most popular spices in India. It has been used there for centuries in cooking and is also a staple ingredient in many curry spice mixes here. Its yellow colour is particularly striking.
In naturopathy, turmeric is used primarily for its anti-inflammatory properties. This makes it particularly popular among people with rheumatic conditions. Many nutritionists therefore recommend making turmeric a regular part of your cooking.
However, for those who do not wish to do so but still want to benefit from the positive properties of turmeric, capsules are a sensible alternative.
Frankincense was already considered particularly valuable by the ancient Egyptians, and in Europe too, frankincense has been used in folk medicine since the Middle Ages. The frankincense tree grows mainly in East Africa and East India, where it sometimes has to withstand particularly harsh conditions. The tree forms a protective layer of resins containing boswellic acid.
In folk medicine, frankincense has long been used to treat various ailments and as a preventative measure as part of a healthy diet. Our turmeric/frankincense capsules contain a frankincense extract with 65% boswellic acid and are therefore highly concentrated.
For best results, turmeric and frankincense should be taken over a longer period. Whilst some people notice a difference after just 7 days, others may need up to six weeks to experience the beneficial effects of these two spices.
