Question: Is nitrate also filtered out? Our well water exceeds the limit.
Answer: Yes! The RO membrane (0.0001 microns) in the W12 system removes nitrates very effectively. Reverse osmosis is one of the best methods for nitrate removal and filters out up to 95–99% of the nitrates from the water. This makes the W12 system ideal for households with elevated nitrate levels in their well water.
Please note that it takes 20 minutes for the new machine to produce water, as the machine needs to automatically clean the interior and water production is not as fast. Wait until the water drop in the top left-hand corner stops or disappears to indicate that the water is safe to drink.

Nitrate, die anorganische Ionen sind, werden jedoch nicht effizient von Aktivkohleadsorbiert.
Für die Entfernung von Nitrat aus Wasser gibt es andere Methoden, die effektiver sind:
Umkehrosmose: Diese Methode kann Nitrate sehr gut aus dem Wasser filtern. Dabei wird Wasser durch eine semipermeable Membran gepresst, die die meisten gelösten Salze und Schadstoffe, einschließlich Nitraten, zurückhält.
Ionenaustauscherharze: Diese Harze tauschen Ionen wie Nitrate gegen weniger schädliche Ionen, meist Chloride oder Sulfate. Diese Methode ist weit verbreitet für die Entnitrifikation von Trinkwasser.
Destillation: Durch Erhitzen des Wassers und anschließendes Kondensieren des Dampfes können viele gelöste Substanzen, einschließlich Nitraten, entfernt werden.
Wenn du also Nitrat aus deinem Wasser entfernen möchtest, solltest du entweder eine Umkehrosmoseanlage oder ein Ionenaustauschsystem in Betracht ziehen. Ein Aktivkohlefilter ist hierfür nicht geeignet.
