Physical shielding against electromagnetic fields (EMF)

In our modern environment, we are surrounded by numerous sources of electromagnetic fields – including mobile phone networks, Wi-Fi routers, Bluetooth connections and electrical cables. Our specialised textiles and shielding products, made from high-quality silver and copper fibres, enable a targeted, metrologically verifiable reduction of these fields in living, sleeping and working spaces.

Principle of operation: Silver and copper fibres based on the Faraday cage principle

The mode of action of our shielding products is based on fundamental physical laws of electrodynamics:

• Reflection and absorption: Fine silver or copper threads woven into the fabric form a highly conductive mesh. Electromagnetic waves strike this barrier and are largely reflected, whilst a negligible amount is converted into heat energy.
• High-frequency fields (HF): Provides effective shielding against radiation from mobile networks (2G/3G/4G/5G), Wi-Fi, DECT telephones and smart meters.
• Low-frequency electric fields (LF): Conductive materials can also be used, provided they are suitably earthed, to dissipate low-frequency alternating electric fields (e.g. from cabling).
