Ionised water

Ionised water

Ionised water is produced when tap water flows through a specially designed filter containing activated carbon and mineral granules. This shifts the pH value to slightly alkaline – in the case of our carafes, to a value of approximately 8.5 to 9.4. The taste and smell improve noticeably, as substances such as chlorine and chlorine compounds are effectively removed.

What our carafes and water ionisers do

  • Activated carbon filtration: Binds chlorine, chlorine compounds and other substances that impair taste.
  • Mineralisation: Special mineral granules raise the pH level to a slightly alkaline range.
  • High capacity: Filter capacity of up to 400 litres per cartridge (up to 1,200 litres per set of three, depending on local water hardness).
  • Tested quality: The filter performance has been tested by an SGS testing laboratory (we are happy to provide the test report on request).

What to look out for when buying

  • Cost-effectiveness: Consider the cost per cartridge and its capacity to ensure a low running cost per litre.
  • Compatibility: Our replacement filters are designed to fit the Valeacell carafe perfectly and are also compatible with water carafes from the Sanus ECAIA® and Sanus Vita® systems.*
  • Capacity: A 3.5-litre capacity is ideal for daily household use; more compact shakers are recommended for when you’re out and about.
A note on our own behalf:
There are many far-reaching health claims circulating online regarding ionised and alkaline water. There is no scientifically recognised evidence to support such claims of healing or efficacy, which is why we deliberately refrain from making them. What our products reliably deliver is high-quality filtration: less chlorine, a fresher taste and a slightly alkaline pH value. Always look for sound evidence when considering statements made by third parties.
